Faux Freckles

Typically, freckles appear naturally across the nose and upper cheeks of the face, giving a sun-kissed appearance. A freckle tattoo is a semi-permanent cosmetic procedure designed to emulate the appearance of genuine freckles.

The process involves placement of freckle marks through the implantation of pigments in freckle hues. Comparable to beauty spots, freckle tattoos involve the use of lighter shades, and a greater quantity is strategically placed to achieve the desired effect.

How the Freckle PMU procedure works?

For the past few seasons, freckle tattoos have been growing in trend. Freckles can give you a sun-kissed look without getting sun damage. To some, natural freckles may be annoying and embarrassing. To others, they're a fashion statement. In fact, freckles are so trendy now, freckles have been beautified. Believe it or not, the new trend in facial beauty flecks has been inspired by Prince Harry's wife Meghan Markle.

As with beauty spots, freckles are also often enhanced with colour from an eyebrow pencil or pen.

At The Dermatography Clinic we utilise the latest micropigmentation techniques to create artificial freckles that are entirely indistinguishable from the real thing. They last much longer than makeup, only requiring top-ups every few years, and remove the need to use makeup to distinguish your freckles.

Freckles can mean different things to different people. Clients will usually have freckles done to draw attention to an area or feature on their face, to their shoulder, neck or breast. Sometimes freckles can mean so much more.

FRECKLE POSTCARE

Freckle tattoo aftercare is crucial for maintaining their longevity and appearance.

Keep them looking natural and beautiful with these simple aftercare steps:

Day 1 Aftercare:

Let the skin relax for the first 24 hours, and do not wash or bathe the skin.

Days 2-7: Face Washing

Wash daily to remove bacteria, buildup of product and oils, and dead skin. (don’t worry, this does not remove the pigment!)

Gently wash your face each morning and night with water and an antibacterial soap like Cetaphil or Neutrogena.

With a very light touch, use your fingertips to cleanse gently. Rub the area in a smooth motion for 10 seconds and rinse with water to rinse all the soap is rinsed away.

To dry, gently pat with a clean cotton pad. Do not use cleansing products containing acids (glycolic, lactic, or aha) or exfoliants.

Days 1-7: Apply Ointment

Apply a rice grain amount of aftercare ointment with a cotton swab and spread it across the treated area.

Be sure not to over-apply, as this will suffocate your skin and delay healing.

The ointment should be barely noticeable on the skin. Never put the ointment on a wet tattoo.

Days 1-7: Showering

Limit your showers to 5-8 minutes to not create too much steam.

Keep your face and treated area out of the water while you wash your body. Then at the end of your shower, wash your hair.

Also, avoid excessive rinsing and hot water on the treated area. Do your best to avoid soap or water running over your brows other than the initial cleanse.
